De basis principes over het MRI LWK onderzoek.
Normale Anatomie
De lumbale wervelkolom (LWK) heeft drie belangrijke functies:
- Ondersteuning van het bovenlichaam; absorberen van axiale krachten afkomstig van hoofd/nek/torso (dit maakt ook dat de lumbale wervels groter zijn dan cervicale en thoracale wervels).
- Bewegelijkheid; flexie/extensie, rotatie en zijwaartse buiging.
- Vorming en bescherming van het spinale kanaal en bijkomende uittredende spinale zenuwen.
